Fall 2015 AI-ship in American Studies Department

The Department of American Studies currently has an opening for an AI or recent Ph.D. graduate to assist faculty in the instruction of A100, “What is America?”.   Assistance will include the leadership of discussion sections and grading. This opening is for fall 2015 with the possibility of reappointment for spring 2016.

The AI stipend for this appointment is expected to be $7,875 per semester and would include a fee remission and student health insurance. The offer for a recent Ph.D. graduate would carry a stipend of at least $7,000 per semester.

Any qualified student or recent graduate may apply, but preference will be given to students enrolled in the AMST combined PhD, the AMST doctoral minor, and the NAIS doctoral minor.  Students who AI for American Studies during the regular academic year will receive priority when it comes time to assign summer teaching.
